Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s former presidential candidate, has criticized the organization for attempting to establish a directorate for the “Obidient Movement.”

Obi declared unequivocally that the “Obidient Movement” is not a political party directorate.

According to BETA NEWS, the Labour Party designated eight individuals to oversee the operations of the “Obedient” Directorate.

The appointment, according to the party, is a component of its repositioning attempts to incorporate millions of Nigerian youth—especially those from the “Obidient” family—into the party’s broader family.

The former governor of Anambra State, however, emphasized in a message sent on Wednesday via his X Twitter that the “Obidient movement” transcends all political affiliations.

He claims that it is an inclusive and diversified group that is not limited by conventional political, religious, or ethnic affinities.

“I would like to state unequivocally that the Obedient Movement is not directed by any specific political party,” he stated. To put it plainly, any person or people claiming to be leaders of this imaginary directorate are not part of the larger Obedient Movement.

“Political parties may have a directorate dedicated to youth mobilization, but the Obedient movement transcends all political affiliations.” The Obedient Movement is an inclusive and varied group that is not limited by conventional political, religious, or ethnic affinities.

Its headquarters are not located in any specific region of the nation, nor does it have a domicile inside any party. Its global membership, which includes people from all walks of life—including rural communities—as well as public, private, and corporate organizations, is brought together by a common vision for a better and more advanced Nigeria. The Obidient Movement promotes justice, equity, fairness, and inclusivity and is driven by the ideas of progressive, transformative, disciplined, and democratic values.
