Olubadan: Governor Makinde Bows to Pressure, Announces Date for Olakulehin’s Coronation
The date of Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin’s coronation as the Olubadan-designate has been announced by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.
In a statement signed by Dotun Oyelade, the commissioner for information, Makinde stated that on July 12, 2024, the Olubadan-designate would receive personnel and official documents.
The state capital of Ibadan provided the statement to BETA NEWS on Friday.
According to information obtained by our correspondent, the declaration was made in response to protests from both individuals and organizations regarding the postponement of the Olubadan-designate’s coronation.
The kingmakers had already selected and appointed Olakulehin in April of this year.
Concerns have been raised by a number of indigenous people regarding the Olubadan-designate’s delayed coronation.
However, Makinde has now declared that the new Olubadan will be crowned on July 12 after tremendous pressure.
In the message, the governor urged the state’s citizens to exercise patience with the government.
