Senator Ningi resumes plenary after suspension

Following a three-month hiatus, federal politician Senator Abdul Ningi, who represents Bauchi Central, has returned to the upper chamber to continue his legislative work.

According to BETA NEWS, the lawmaker’s allegations of budget manipulation led to his suspension in March 2023.

Ningi asserted in an interview that the Federal Government was using two different budgets until 2024.

The legislator further asserted that the N28.7 trillion budget, which President Bola Tinubu signed into law after it was approved by the National Assembly, was biased against the North.

He was barred from plenary for three months as a result of the accusations.

However, on May 28, he was brought back after Senator Abba Moro, the Deputy Minority Leader, started the procedure and expressed regret on his behalf.

Ningi, a senator for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), was seen driving his black Toyota Landcruiser Jeep on Tuesday at the National Assembly grounds in Abuja.

As he got closer to the NASS gate, he paused to say hello to reporters who were waiting to greet him again.

“Members of the press, I’m very grateful,” said the beaming politician. “I received all of your messages.”
