Delta State govt hands over C of O of 67 hectares of land to Nigerian Air Force

The Nigeria Air Force has received the Certificate of Occupancy for 66.6 hectares of property from Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

During a goodwill visit to Asaba, he performed the transfer with Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, the Chief of Air Staff.

“As everyone knows, the previous administration initially approved it, but there was no C of O. At the time, it was intended to be an operating base. We will help build the roads that will connect the 66.6 hectares of property; we are aware that the project is currently ongoing.

Since growth is only possible via enhancing peace and security in the state, the gesture is consistent with our M.O.R.E. program. I would want to bring to your attention that, prior to the tragic events of October 17, Delta State was already experiencing peace.

“We fully denounce the regrettable event, and we are confident that the Okuama 17 will not be forgotten. We are also trying our hardest; for innocent citizens, we have already established an IDP camp.

“I want to reassure you that we will see to it that you receive the land you seek for your housing development as soon as feasible. We need to prepare the site right now because it appears that you are motivated to construct a home plan for your staff.

“We reaffirm our commitment to working in tandem with the Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies in Delta State to maintain peace, as it is the sole means of attaining sustainable development in this state,” the governor said.

Abubakar expressed gratitude to the governor for the state of Delta’s long-standing support of the Air Force and for the state’s strong implementation of his M.O.R.E. agenda.

For giving the Air Force land as a gift so it could properly establish itself in the state, he also praised Governor Oborevwori.
