‘I lost money due to labour strike, but support them’ – Falz

Rapper Folarin Falana, also known as Falz, from Nigeria has stated that he supports the labor unions’ cause even if his business is being negatively impacted by their current strike.

Remember that on Monday, the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) went on an indefinite strike to pressure the government to reconsider raising energy costs for certain customers and to reach an agreement on a new minimum wage for workers.

Falz claimed that because of the airport closures brought on by the strike, he was left stranded in Uyo and his return flight to Lagos was canceled.

He clarified that he had also lost the money he had invested in planning a video shoot as he was unable to travel to Lagos for it.

Nonetheless, the rapper acknowledged that he was aware of the reasons behind the walkout and declared his support for the requests made by the labor organizations.

Falz stated in a video message posted on his Instagram account, “I woke up this morning and headed to the airport only to hear that it’s closed and all flights are canceled due to the strike action. I’m stranded in Uyo and won’t be able to go to Lagos.

It had an impact on me since I had a film shoot in Lagos today and I lost money because we had previously made reservations and now we would need to make additional payments. I sympathize with them and understand the reasoning of the strike, even though it truly harmed me. I’m working with the labor. Actually, this strike was intended to occur sooner rather than later.
