The report circulating on the Internet that the Federal Government has recommended N105,000 as the new minimum wage has been refuted by Special Advisor to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to a source, Wale Edun, the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, suggested N105,000 for the new minimum wage pattern.

Onanuga, however, denied that Edun had proposed the N105,000 minimum salary as had been rumored in a post on his X account on Thursday.

He declared: “The Honorable Wale Edun, Minister of Finance and Coordination of the Economy, has not suggested a minimum wage of N105,000. The opposing narrative that is circulating is untrue.

Remember that Edun was given a two-day deadline by President Bola Tinubu to submit a new wage template?

Labor, however, has not yet confirmed whether it has received a new offer from the government.
