The athlete, who was born in Ogun State, was suspended in 2023 by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) for skipping three drug tests in a 12-month period.

The AIU panel later reversed the decision.

Amusan would have been suspended for two years and would not have been able to compete in the 2024 Olympics had the appeal been granted.
