Food will become a net export from Nigeria – Bola Tinubu assures amid hardship

According to President Bola Tinubu, his administration is working nonstop to turn Nigeria into a net exporter of food.

After visiting Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Sunday, a delegation from the Global Tijaniyya Movement, led by Khalifa Muhammad Mahe Niass, revealed this in a statement. Ajuri Ngelale is the President’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity.

Through a number of programmes, including as increasing farmlands, giving farmers low-interest loans, and making large expenditures in irrigation infrastructure, he pledged to increase agricultural production.

“We are committed to furnishing hospitals with state-of-the-art equipment, training medical personnel, and guaranteeing social welfare for all citizens, which includes full health insurance coverage.

“Food will become a net export from Nigeria.” We have thousands of tractors coming with us. Aggressive mechanisation will result in a significant increase in food production. As a people, we have to be productive. That is the Sunnah and what I was taught as a child,” he remarked.

The assurance from President Tinubu coincides with Nigeria’s skyrocketing inflation and growing cost of life. The National Bureau of Statistics reports that food inflation was 33.93 percent in the December consumer price index, while headline inflation was 28.92 percent.
