As they were escaping a bandit raid in the Gurmana village in Shiroro Local Government Area, four citizens of Niger State perished.

The community’s residents frequently use canoes to flee to an island where they may hide from robbers who regularly target the area.

When inhabitants who had evacuated to the island on Wednesday tried to return home, their boat sank on Thursday, which is when the catastrophe happened.
